Marine vessels – HelvetiaSafe

Fire protection for marine vessels

HelvetiaSafe Aerosol units, ABC solutions and fire balls protect machinery spaces, switchboards and cabins without water damage.

Protects engines & switchboards
Protects engines & switchboards

Aerosol units inside engine compartments, generators and main switchboards stop fires at the source.

Fast localized activation
Fast localized activation

Automatic activation in seconds, limiting heat and smoke before the fire spreads through the vessel.

Clean & electronics-safe
Clean & electronics-safe

No sprinkler water inside sensitive electronics – Aerosol and ABC concepts minimize secondary damage.

Typical applications

Marine vessels combine high fire risks in very compact spaces. HelvetiaSafe concepts allow targeted protection where water or foam systems are difficult or cause high damage.

How the concept works

  • Aerosol units are installed directly in engine spaces, switchboards and cabinets.
  • When the activation temperature is reached, Aerosol fills the enclosed volume and interrupts combustion.
  • ABC solutions and automatic fire balls secure open areas such as corridors, storage and deck equipment.
  • The fire is attacked locally without flooding the whole vessel with water.

Configuration

  • Protected volumes are calculated and fitted with correctly sized Aerosol units.
  • ABC products and fire balls are positioned along escape routes, machinery spaces and high-risk zones.
  • Concept can be combined with existing fixed extinguishing systems on board.
  • HelvetiaSafe supports design, product selection and placement based on your vessel layout.

Can I start with one area only?

Yes. Many projects begin with engine rooms or main switchboards and are expanded later to battery banks, galleys or accommodation areas.

Does this replace existing fixed systems?

Usually HelvetiaSafe concepts complement existing systems. Aerosol and ABC products protect local risks, while your fixed system remains the main ship-wide protection.

Is installation possible during operation?

Installation is normally done during harbour stays or planned maintenance. Cabinets and compartments are equipped without major structural changes.

Which products are used on marine vessels?

Depending on the area we combine Aerosol units, ABC products and automatic fire balls. The exact mix is defined in the project concept for your vessel.
